What You'll Learn in This Guide

1. What Is a Portfolio Report?

A Portfolio Report is a dynamic summary of the collective risk profile of all properties within a specific portfolio. It combines data-driven risk scores, charts, and distribution insights to help you understand:

  • Which perils pose the greatest risk across your assets.

  • Which properties are driving the most exposure.

  • How risk is distributed across peril type.

You can access a Portfolio Report by navigating to the Risk tab, selecting the portfolio of interest, and clicking on the Report button in the upper-right corner.

2. How to Use a Portfolio Report Effectively

Use the Portfolio Report to:

  • Communicate risk insights clearly to stakeholders or clients.

  • Prioritize mitigation efforts based on highest-risk properties.

  • Compare portfolio performance across different peril categories.

  • Track improvements or changes over time as properties are added, removed, or improved.

3. Portfolio RiskRank & Portfolio Summary

Portfolio RiskRank

The Portfolio RiskRank is a composite score that summarizes the total risk exposure of your portfolio on a scale from 0 to 10. The Pkortfolio RiskRank score is updated automatically as properties are added or removed from your portfolio. It considers:

  • The individual Property RiskRanks within the portfolio

  • Exposure value (e.g., total estimated insurable value)

  • Distribution across different hazard types

Portfolio Summary

This generative text summary highlights the key trends across your portfolio, including:

  • Most prevalent perils (e.g., Wildfire, Earthquake)

  • Top drivers of risk

  • Portfolio strengths and weaknesses

  • High-risk locations or asset clusters

4. Risk Charts & Graphs

Portfolio Risk Overview

This radar chart visualizes average peril scores across the portfolio. It allows you to quickly identify which hazard types are most significant across your asset base.

Highest and Lowest Risk Properties

This section displays the top 5 highest-risk and lowest-risk properties in the portfolio. Each property shows:

  • A thumbnail image

  • RiskRank score

  • City and state

  • Top peril contributor

Use this view to spot properties that may require further investigation, mitigation, or divestment.

Risk Distribution Heatmap

The heatmap illustrates the percentage distribution of different perils across your portfolio. Darker shades indicate greater exposure concentrations. This is useful for:

  • Visualizing risk intensity across hazard types.

  • Identifying outlier perils (e.g., one-off earthquake risks).

  • Understanding clustering of similar exposures.

Cumulative Risk Score Chart

This chart shows the cumulative distribution of risk across the portfolio as a percentage of property value. It helps answer:

  • How much of the risk is concentrated in your top-value assets?

  • Is risk evenly spread or dominated by a few properties?

The curve allows you to spot risk inefficiencies and rebalance accordingly.

Pro Tip: Your Portfolio Report updates automatically as your portfolio changes. Use it regularly to track progress, benchmark exposure, and prepare for renewals or reinsurance submissions.
